Goldfish has been on a quiet tear lately, expanding well beyond the cheddar crackers that defined the brand for decades. The latest move: three new pretzel flavors that land the brand squarely in bar-snack territory. Zesty Ranch, Hot Buffalo, and Honey Mustard Goldfish Pretzels hit shelves in January 2026, giving the fish-shaped snack a more adult-oriented flavor profile.
The pretzel format is crunchier and denser than the classic Goldfish cracker, which makes it a better vehicle for bolder seasonings. Hot Buffalo delivers a genuine vinegar-forward heat that builds nicely. Zesty Ranch nails the cool, herbaceous ranch profile without tasting artificial. Honey Mustard is the sweetest of the three, with a tangy kick that rounds out the lineup.
The expansion into more adventurous flavors is part of a broader strategy by Campbell's (Goldfish's parent company) to push the brand beyond its traditional kid-snack positioning. Recent years have seen Goldfish experiment with Frank's RedHot collaborations, Mega Bites, and flavor-blasted varieties, all aimed at capturing the adult snacking market without abandoning its core kid-friendly appeal.
All three flavors are available now at most major grocery retailers. They're excellent game-day snacks, desk snacks, or honestly just "standing in the kitchen at 10pm" snacks. The fish have come a long way from the elementary school lunch box.
